History
NUJHC (Northern United Junior Hockey Club) was founded in 2002. It grew out Northern United Hockey Club(now the senior club), which was established in the 1930s.
In 2004, NUJHC entered into a facilities sharing agreement with NPTC (Newlands-Paparangi Tennis Club). NUJHC signed on as a sublessee and raised funds to install the synthetic playing turf and goals over the existing asphalt court surface.
In 2013, NUJHC and NPTC renewed the lease with the council as joint lessees. NPTC and NUJHC share the use of the turf and rooms at 26 Black Rock Road, Newlands. Both clubs jointly lease the land from WCC. Both clubs are non-profit organisations.
The two clubs share the facilities, without charging each other any money for use. From 1 April to 30 September, NUJHC is the ‘Major User’ of the turf. During that period, it has first dibs on turf time, but must give NPTC 'reasonable access' . During that period, it is also responsible for cleaning and minor maintenance. The reverse situation applies during the tennis season, 1 October to 31 March.

NUJHC formally will merge with the senior NUHC from 2022 onwards.

Play with NUHC (Northern United Hockey Club)
If you are an adult wanting to play hockey, then Northern United Hockey Club is the place for you. Established in the 1930s, it is a thriving club that offers hockey opportunities in both competitive and social men's and women's teams.
Northern United Hockey Club is run separately from Northern United Junior Hockey Club.
Committee - 2020
The Executive Committee is made up of volunteers who are parents of children playing at the club. We are always looking for people to help on the committee and as coaches, team managers, etc., so please do contact us if you would like to help.
